I just couldn’t help but share this mouthwatering article with you here. “Combined Measures: Great Writers & Their Drinks” features just five authors, but unlike some such articles I’ve come across, 100% of those featured authors are ones whose work I like; and all five drinks, as well, whet my palate. You will note that my favorite, Hemingway, is present (as he ever will be, where alcohol is discussed). I am tempted to try some of these myself… particularly the accompaniment to Kerouac’s cocktail, discussed on page one.
Enjoy. π
And do share: which author, or drink, do you fancy?

Parker has always been my fave. Why couldn’t she write a novel–that would have been awesome. And I love gin–should I admit that? So have to love Fitzgerald as well.
Great fun. π I love Parker, too, although I haven’t read all that much of her; do you have a favorite collection or source to recommend to me? Oh, and I really enjoy the facebook page for Parker (run by a biography of hers, consists of quotations and fun facts) – you should check it out if you haven’t. Me, I’m not so much a gin drinker, though.
I have the Portable Parker collection. Has her poems and short stories. I’ve read a few bios on her. Marion Meade’s What Fresh Hell is an enjoyable biography. Currently I’m reading Meade’s book on Parker, Ferber, Zelda Fitzgerald, and Edna St. Vincent Millay. I’ve always wanted to go to NYC for the Parker festival.
Ohhh, that sounds wonderful!! I look forward to hearing about the current Meade; sounds really interesting. I’ve heard much about the Portable Parker; that must be the go-to. Will keep my eyes open. Thanks!!
